Carpenters For Christ Mission Statement
James 2: 16-17
And one of you says to them "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. NKJV.
Mission Statement
The Cherokee Baptist Association (AL) Carpenters for Christ exists for on-mission Christians to demonstrate their faith through work and service in assisting churches to build new buildings that will further the Kingdom of God and for the salvation of souls. Carpenters for Christ is a non-denominational, nonprofit, volunteer organization composed of Christian men and women who volunteer their time and talents in the construction of facilities used for worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Some are called to go, some are called to give, all are called to pray.
The June 2009 Carpenters for Christ trip to Fairfield Baptist Church in Centerville, Tennessee will be remembered as the return trip to a church where God continues to work. The carpenters trip in 1996 resulted in a new santuary where two morning services continue to grow. The need was for an educational wing with classrooms, fellowship hall, and offices. Carpenters for Christ from 6 states joined together to construct the interrior walls (46 rooms) plumbing, electrical, insulation and some sheetrock. God allowed us to complete the first phase of the mission and other carpenter groups are scheduled to follow to complete the building by September 2009.
